Just as life is like a rollercoaster with it's ups and downs, so it is with my journaling efforts. Gotta be authentic, right?

Where did THE LAST 3 YEARS go? Playing catch up is too overwhelming so I'll just try to keep going as if I never stopped.

Boy Crazy

When I was younger, my dad would always say "you're too boy crazy for your own good" because I loved being surrounded by boys...

A couple weeks ago, there was a little spot of water running through the grout from under our toilet. Neither Brett nor I could figure out where the leak was coming from or if there was even a leak. So, we cleaned it up and continued on with life, thinking this household problem fit into the "wait and see" category.

Well last weekend we went on a little trip to St. George.  When we came home, I was overwhelmed by the smell of sour urine! I had cleaned the bathrooms before we left (one of my many compulsive habits) so naturally, I was going crazy trying to figure out what was going on... After washing the walls next to, behind, above, and all around the toilet, I still couldn't get rid of the smell. The same grout spot under and around the toilet looked damp, so I said "that's it- there's some kind of leak," and I immediately called a plumber.

When the plumber came I told him "I can't figure out where the leak is coming from, but something is wrong! This toilet is making me crazy!"

After thoroughly checking it out, the plumber asked, "You have little boys, right?"

"Yes," (Did the rowdy little sword fighters give it away?)

"Well, I don't think you have a problem with your toilet, I think this is a different issue." He went on to shine his flashlight back behind the toilet to that nasty discolored grout spot and slowly moved the beam upward. "As you can see, someone is hitting the back of the toilet and it's dripping onto this exact spot. Your toilet is working, it's just a problem with little boys as they work on their aim."

Sure enough, there it was. "Oh my goodness, I have never felt so embarrassed, I'm so sorry to have wasted your time."

"Don't worry," he smiled. "I see it all the time. It's just a part of having a bunch of boys." (He didn't even charge for the service call- I must've looked that pathetic.)

How my boys have managed to continually hit that exact crevice, I'll never know. What makes me the most crazy, is that even with all my mad cleaning skills I have somehow managed to miss this?!?

For me the term "boy crazy" has taken on a completely new meaning...

Happy Belated...

Holidays!
I tell ya, I'm just not able to keep up with the blog like I used to, but I figure better late than never.
My favorite thing about this year's Christmas was that Brett had so much time off!
And I'm not the only one who LOVES having him home with us:
Every Christmas Season, we have a tradition of making some sort of gingerbread house.
This year we made a winter castle for mom:
And a train for the boys:
And of course, there's the annual trip to see the lights (we went twice this year).
The first time we were ready to sell our second son- he was so rotten & naughty! I've decided it's much easier to feel the Spirit of Temple Square when you have grandparents there to help out. ;)
Gangsta Hunter won't pose unless he can do a trick:
My little Christmas Elf can sure turn on the charm:
We also have the yearly tradition of putting on a family Christmas pageant.
Hunter liked being a "wise shepherd:"
And Kye Kye insisted on performing the role of Baby Jesus:
I had to throw this sweet shot in- Kyler is now to the age where his "camera smile" has turned into this:
And last but not least, here are the boys enjoying some of their presents. Note to self: Super shooters and cardboard houses are usually a recipe for disaster...
Baby Boy #3 is in for a wild ride!
So, happy belated Christmas and New Year- Can't wait to see what 2011 has in store!
