Just as life is like a rollercoaster with it's ups and downs, so it is with my journaling efforts. Gotta be authentic, right?

Where did THE LAST 3 YEARS go? Playing catch up is too overwhelming so I'll just try to keep going as if I never stopped.

We Are Here! We Are Here! We Are Here! We Are Here!

I promised myself a year ago I would make time to journal our little family’s life. Well, here I sit 365  367 days later FINALLY making good on said promise, as I attempt to rejoin the blogworld. The problem is, SO MUCH has happened in the last year-and-a-half, that I have no idea where to begin. Compound that with the fact that a year-and-a-half ago I was already needing to “catch up” on the year before that and you have a very OVERWHELMED lady. But, as I’ve learned with every daunting task in life, the best way to get started is to actually start and then peck away at what it is you need to accomplish until you’re finished…
Picking Up Where I Left Off: Summer 2012!
Summer 2012 found us living with parents as we built our new place.

We moved away from this backyard

To spend a few months in this one.
I was really worried about how the boys were going to handle everything. How would they do moving away from the “Celestial Circle” (which was booming with kids) to the now-quiet street I grew up on (which was booming with grandparents)? So, when my cute sister-in-law offered us a baby bunny, we accepted.

Meet Stormer. When you pull kids away from life-as-we-know-it, it’s nice to give ‘em a pet to cuddle. (Please note: Stormer is still living a very adventurous life in our garage. He has earned the record for “pet that has lasted the longest” in the Johnson Household. I am very proud of my non-animal-loving self for making it this long.)
Of course we had to live it up while we had the chance (meaning no yard work, no house projects, and minimal cleaning) and
swim,

 beach,

bike,

climb,

hike,

camp,

play,

mow,

lounge (wow- I look like a lazy hubby/slave-driver!),

and (it wouldn't be a summer for our family without it-) boat like crazy!

We painted furniture.

Kyler said “I always wished I could live with my grandma. Now it finally came true!”
Hunter discovered his new-found love for fishing with his grandpa.

I even got the older two to sing at the county fair!
(Or at least sit on the stage…)
Amazing what a little balloon "sword" bribery can do... (Hey, I didn't say they were happy about it.)

Kye was a crazy good little soccer player.
We had lots of fun, but there were still days where it was hard. Especially when we went back up North to visit our friends. (We seemed to drive up there a lot.)
Maybe we liked watching our house go from a hole in the ground...
 to our home!

At the time it seemed like we waited forever.

Now it seems like it went by extremely fast!
But then again, that was a year-and-a-half ago!
