Just as life is like a rollercoaster with it's ups and downs, so it is with my journaling efforts. Gotta be authentic, right?

Where did THE LAST 3 YEARS go? Playing catch up is too overwhelming so I'll just try to keep going as if I never stopped.

It Flew By...

Just as everyone said it would. I now have a five-year-old! Seeing as how Hunter turned 5 over a week ago, I thought I'd better post...

We started his big day with a "Boys-Only-Pirate-Party." Dad took the day off (as per Hunter's request) and was a big help with the nine little pirates we had running wild!
We started out with the cake and icecream (so we wouldn't spoil lunch), and I realized that pumping them full of sugar at the beginning of the party was probably a mistake...

But they didn't mind! We played "pin the flag on the map," held some "peg-leg races," had them "walk the plank," and just let them be wild and crazy!

The party ended with them running around the circle to find "clues" for their very own treasure hunt. Brett and I couldn't believe how much they loved it. (We only gave 6 clues and later wished we had done more- guess we underestimated a group of five-year-olds!)
Hunter then celebrated at preschool, where he was crowned "Birthday King." He wouldn't take the crown off the rest of the day!
He even wore it while riding his big new birthday bike.
We ended his birthday celebration with the family party on Sunday. He had been drooling over his cake all day. (Notice how he had to place his "Mickey, the Pirate-Musketeer," on his ship)...
More birthday news to come...

You have a 5 year old...NUTS! That is so crazy! What a darling little boy. And, I read the post prior about Kyler and the poo HA! That is hilarious! Ok, so we need to get together for lunch or SOMETHING and not just keep talking. I also am due for a haircut here soon and need to see the Master! :)
