Just as life is like a rollercoaster with it's ups and downs, so it is with my journaling efforts. Gotta be authentic, right?

Where did THE LAST 3 YEARS go? Playing catch up is too overwhelming so I'll just try to keep going as if I never stopped.

Sunday Photos

Here is one of the reasons I love having two boys together:
They are so stinkin' cute!
Especially when they're all dressed up for church!

On the other hand, sometimes my desire for pictures can bring on some major attitude...

I don't know what it is about males & church clothes (namely neckties) that makes them so ornery. Can't a mother take a few pics of her handsome son, now and then? (Okay, so maybe he was tired from church & hungry for lunch)...

Speaking of being so darn cute, it's a really good thing Kye has that going for him,

since he's been driving me batty this week...

whining, crying, constant hanging on my leg... I have to continually remind myself that his teeth are hurting him. (C'mon mom, have some sympathy, right?)

Is it any wonder why I call this one my "little elf?"
I love his squishy little adorable munchkin face!

Hopefully next time his teeth will finally be showing!!

Let Freedom Ring

Well, for the second year in a row, we decided to forgo the traditional celebrating & party on the lake! I'll spare everyone more boating pics & let you see the beach instead...

Tubing Buddies

Water Volleyball (No net needed...)

Kyler's fun at the beach!
(He's happy just sitting in his "cage" watching the fun...)

...as long as he has something to stuff in his face!

Kye Loves Grandma Johnson!
I wish I would've snapped one of Grandpa as well- they, too, have a little bond...

Cousins- Hunter loved playing with cute Porter!

Kyler felt like he was really big sitting in this little chair.

Hunter's Pet

We came home Saturday-
just in time to watch a delightful firework show in the circle. Hunter covered his ears, but loved the lights!

Later he said, "Those loud whistles hurt my hearing."

Maybe next year we'll indulge in a parade or BBQ like a regular American Family... We did listen to Martina's Independence Day on Tera & Scott's boat, if that counts for anything!
Hope everyone had a great time celebrating our FREEDOM!!

A Day in the Life of...

KYLER:

This dear little child loves to spend his time terrorizing everything he can get his hands on!

Just earlier today, in the three minutes it took me to get Hunter's breakfast, Kye managed to get into the garbage, my bag, & some fishies (keep in mind, the crackers were in a sealed container)!

When I found the floor covered in paper & crackers, I had to get a picture of his "Uh-oh, you caught me" look, followed by the "Yeah! I got away with it" smile...

Too cute, too much TROUBLE!

HUNTER:

Hunter has turned into a "why child" this past month. Here are some of his latest questions :

  • "Who put the baby in that mommy's tummy?" (My answer, "Heavenly Father.") His follow-up question: "How did Heavenly Father get a baby to go in a tummy?"
  • (it somehow turned into Kyler's birth) "Did Kye climb out your mouth?" (Score one for the C-section! "Nope, the doctor opened up my tummy & pulled him out!")
  • "Where is Heaven?"
  • "Is the Holy Ghost a scary ghost?"
  • "Why don't the bad guys know how to be nice?"
  • "Where did we get that milk?" ("From the store.") "How did the milk get in the store?" (I realize I could have skipped the explanation, had I just said "from a cow," to begin with).
