Just as life is like a rollercoaster with it's ups and downs, so it is with my journaling efforts. Gotta be authentic, right?

Where did THE LAST 3 YEARS go? Playing catch up is too overwhelming so I'll just try to keep going as if I never stopped.

Time Flies

When you have a newborn!!
Trae turned 1 month on Monday, but it feels like we just barely came home from the hospital!
Here he was at 2 weeks:
I love the little birthmark on his bum!
Trae loves his fingers in or near his mouth.
He prefers to even be swaddled with his hands up under his chin.
 I call him my "Minni-Brett"

Here we are at 3 weeks:
Trae has been a fairly good, "textbook" baby, thus far.
He's extremely alert and is usually happy unless hungry, needs to burp, needs his pants changed, or if he's overtired. Unfortunately, he does have reflux, but it hasn't been so bad this time around (After 2 extremely bad reflux cases I've learned to have a few tricks up my sleeve).

His first definite engaging smile was the night before he turned 4 weeks old. I say "engaging" because it was the first time he smiled while making eye contact with me.
He seems to have a pretty mellow personality, and is the first baby I've had that produces the little whine and cough that most newborns give before they scream.
He's also super strong- I've already had three comments on how unbelievably strong he is. (To give an idea, he could roll from his stomach to his back at two weeks and he's already holding up his own head!)
Speaking of which, this head is covered in dark hair!
He came out sportin' a full-on mullet!!

Gotta love the feet!
I could just nibble those little toes for hours!
And now to answer the main question:
"How is he at night?"
I can't complain one bit! He only gets up one time, eats fast, and goes right back to sleep!
Now if we could just get Kye to learn from his little bro's example...
There's something about the third time around and my ability to just let go and enjoy it more
I don't know if it's because I'm older and more patient, or if it's that I realize how the baby stage doesn't last long, or maybe it's because we got off to such a rough start with him- but I'm definitely relishing each moment with this little guy!

He is so cute and the time does go by way fast... some days I'm sure seem faster than others. ;)

Oh my goodness he is so cute! That last pic is my fav. I can relate when it comes to having a "strong" baby. Preston was also rolling over at 2 weeks, then crawling at 6 mos, and walking at 10 mos. So watch out! These little brothers have to make up time so they can run around with the BIG boys:).

He is so adorable Sarah! And a agree, he is a mini Brett. :) We need to come see you guys, I can't believe he is already 1 month old and we haven't even visited yet. We are terrible friends!! Please forgive us! :) P.S. This is Holly.

He's so cute! We can't wait to meet him when we come in August! And I'm jealous that he only wakes up once at night. Aiden still gets up two or three times and doesn't always go back to sleep! And he is 4 months old! Trae is so cute! :)
